Oak Hill Church of Christ 5-21-23 Message: "Lost and Found"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the love of God toward His children.

God's love for His children is often treated as more limited than it truly is. It is easy to imagine God as giving love to the very holy and the very noble. Maybe even the very wealthy or very powerful. God's love, we fear, slows to a trickle when it gets to the average person in the average home with the average job.

God's message, however, is different. He shows that His care and attention extends to anyone who loves and obeys Him. (Psalm 91).

We also may be tempted to feel that a difficult life shows God's contempt for us. If He loved and cared for us, our lives would be easy and full of pleasant things.

God's message, again, is different. God shows that trying times are how God grows his children. (James 1:2-4, Proverbs 3:12)

Believers should not fear trying times or troubling situations, because God is with them and is guiding them to a better place. Proverbs 19:18 says "chasten your son while there is hope."

God has hope for you, He has neither given you up, nor abandoned you. Take heart in knowing that God promises protection and guidance, and find strength in the trials provided, rather than sorrow.
