On this day, 78 years ago, Soviet and US allied forces met for their famous handshake at the Elbe River. But as relations now between Washington and Moscow are practically severed - with Russian Embassy officials being banned from visiting the US graves of Soviet soldiers - RT's Steve Sweeney describes how the momentous anniversary is being celebrated today.
