As Moscow is set to trade with Beijing exclusively in the two countries’ national currencies, Poland and several Baltic states have called on the EU to expand sanctions on Russia’s Gazprom bank, removing it from the international SWIFT payment system.
Russian aluminum and diamonds would also be banned under the proposal, and limits would be imposed on the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies oil to Europe.
