Just a Gameplay Sample for the PS1 port of Doom. I used the PS3 to upscale this footage.

The PS1 port of Doom is, arguably, the best console port of the game of all time. It makes some changes, taking the music and making it moody, and ambient, adding colored lighting, cuts out a couple of the larger levels, and adds Doom II enemies in the original Doom. It also has Doom II on the disk. Well, a sizable portion of Doom II. You basically get two Doom games for the price of one which is awesome.

The PS1 port is also the smoothest playing port tot he retro consoles. It does have some framerate issues, but it wasn't until the Collector's Edition of Doom 3 on the original Xbox which contained a 4-player port of the original Doom that consoles got a smoother playing port. The PS1 version is packed full of content, adds some cool new additions to the game, and plays fantastically. This is definitely worth picking up for the system.
