Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was an absolute failure. From day one, the promotional material released on YouTube was ratioed to hell by the Tolkien fandom because they knew that the cast and writers and everyone with the show were going to pevert the source material. It turns out, they were right.

Despite Amazon's attempts to try and silence the true fans and the audiences, the fact is that the viewership post the first episode dropped by a significant amount; the people watching this show immediately realised how low the quality truly was and they weren't going to stick around to see yet another beloved franchise of theirs be ruined by woke Hollywood.

However, the tables seemed to have turned. Galadriel actress Morfydd Clark is now admitting that the fans were right to be defensive of their characters and acknowledges that she would feel the same way if she was on our side. I think it is accurate to say that the cast are doing some damage control because they have finally realised how trash the first season of this show was and want to keep their jobs so they are trying to bring back the fans who have walked out of the door.
