Exploring the History of the Caledonian Canal | Fort Augustus Locks & Laggan avenue

In this episode we set off from Fort Augustus, climb the locks to reach Loch Oich, cruise Laggan Avenue and explore more of the rich history surrounding the Caledonian Canal.

We start in Fort Augustus then take our 2 Caley Cruisers, The Balmoral and the Taransay and our Inflatable boat / SIB through Fort Augustus Locks. At the top of the Locks we cruise through the canal to get to Loch Oich.

On Loch Oich the Caley Cruisers push on ahead to make our reservation at the Eagle Barge whilst the Inflatable / SIB goes on an adventure to Invergarry Castle.
Once passed the final Loch Oich swing bridge the Caley Cruisers head down the spectacular Laggan Avenue.
Eagle Barge sits at Laggan Locks, after a great meal there and learning about its history we take on the final lock of the day and moor up on Loch Lochy where we wild swim and get surprised by a Chinook.
