Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil and grease lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the sugar and stir to combine. Heat the mixture until hot but not bubbling, stirring occasionally.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, espresso powder (if using), and vanilla extract.

Add the warm butter-sugar mixture to the bowl and whisk until well combined.

Add the flour and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
