Calories in Vs calories out

Calories are like little pieces of energy that our body gets from the food we eat. Our body needs a certain amount of energy every day to do everything like walking, playing, and even just breathing.

When we talk about "calories in," it means the energy we get from the food we eat. And "calories out" means the energy our body uses for all the things we do.

Now imagine a balance, like a seesaw. If we eat more calories than our body needs, the balance tips one way, and we might gain weight. If we eat fewer calories than our body needs, the balance tips the other way, and we might lose weight.
