Let Go of Stress: Short Meditation for Beginners

To start this meditation, get comfortable in a seated position and take a deep breath, grounding yourself by feeling your feet firmly planted on the ground. Continue to take deep breaths and allow yourself to relax and release any tension.

Direct your attention to your toes and gently scrunch them up, then release. Move up to your ankles and continue to relax your calf muscles, knees, and thighs. Keep your mind clear and allow any thoughts to drift away.

Release any tension in your buttocks and pelvic area and become aware of any tension in your back. Inhale deeply and exhale while letting go of any tension in your back.

Focus on your shoulders and lift them up as you inhale, then release completely as you exhale. Relax your neck and jaw muscles with another deep breath and release any tension in these areas. Finally, release any tension at the top of your head.

Take a few more deep breaths, enjoying the feeling of relaxation and calm. When you're ready, slowly bring your attention back to your surroundings, noticing the sounds around you. Take your time and gently open your eyes when you're ready. Take a moment to notice how you feel.
