Russia bombards Ukraine with drone attack in Kyiv region, missile strikes in Zaporizhzhia

Russia launched a swarm of drones and airstrikes into Ukraine overnight, killing at least four people near Kyiv and one person in Zaporizhzhia just as China’s President Xi Jinping left Moscow with promises of friendship and a peace plan for the war.

The State Emergency Service said two dormitories and an educational facility in Rzhyshchiv were destroyed, and several people were still missing following a series of explosions overnight.

Meanwhile, Russian missiles hit residential buildings in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia Wednesday, killing one and injuring at least 33 people including three children, according to Yurii Malashko, head of Zaporizhzhia regional military administration.
