Russian drones attack Kyiv but are 'shot down by Ukrainian police'

A RUSSIAN drone attack on early Wednesday (December 14) caught Kyiv residents off guard but failed to affect their stance on the war.

A drone smashed a hole in the roof of a building in central Kyiv, but city officials said air defences prevented serious damage.

Local resident Yaroslav Vynokurov was getting ready for work when he said he saw a bright flash. His car windshield was seen shattered. Despite the trouble, he remained defiant.

“They want us to live with a blackout, so that everyone suffers. But no one will suffer. The most important thing is that they (the Russians) are not here,” Vynokurov said.

Nataliia Melnyk said she woke up to a whirring engine sound, a noise typical to Shahed drones.
