The governing committee of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) met Thursday to discuss its work handling the homeless crisis in Seattle and the county.

The KCRHA is in the process of revising its five-year plan, which includes bringing together 39 cities and King County into one system to deal with homelessness and has a proposed price tag of nearly $ 12 billion.

At Thursday's meeting, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell expressed concerns over how the plan would be funded.

“If you’re going to put that [$12 billion price] out there, then you have to help leaders find the route to it," Harrell told KCRHA CEO, Marc Dones. “I think you did perhaps what you thought was a directive, which is 'what does a full investment to solve homelessness, look like?' You looked through it, came up with your strategies, and certainly a big price tag. But we can’t fund that.”
