I absolutely adore the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) and, with it being Christmas, I thought it was the perfect time to take a look at Christmas With The Joker. This DCAU Holiday special episode was the first of its kind in the universe, and helped establish different characterizations of Batman, Robin and The Joker. With the Joker escaping on Christmas Eve, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson have their work cut out for them, especially since Joker has a kidnapped Commissioner Gordon in tow. I love Smallville. I know the show isn't perfect, but I can't put into words how much this version of Clark Kent and Superman means to me. Smallville was a show that helped shape me as a person, during a time when morality and the questions of living in the world were overwhelming to me. I wanted to take a look back at the Batman Arkham series and what made each entry so special. While there are many positives you can look at in Batman Arkham Asylum, I truly believe that the biggest triumph of this game is it's attention to detail in the atmosphere. From the beginning, you are the sole protector that can stand against the darkness of Joker and his criminal army. With supervillains like Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and even the Riddler tormenting you, you must become Bruce Wayne and protect the inhabitants of Gotham City. Modern video games have some advantages over the classics, but they also suffer from so many problems that did not need to affect them so drastically. One such issue with gaming now is the always-online component and the lack of game preservation. These games are so reliant on the internet and so reliant on connectivity features, that they completely crumple and fade away without these. Meanwhile, games from the earlier console generations can be played with no problems, to this day. Batman Arkham Origins almost had playable villain sections? According to these old statements and an interview, Joker and Bane both were almost playable characters in Batman Arkham Origins in dedicated story segments. Batman Arkham Knight had some great DLC, but it also had some of the worst dlc in the entire series. Batman Arkham Knight's Catwoman's Revenge DLC was really awful. There was very little redeeming about this DLC pack, and it was such a chore to play through. There are plenty of interviews with Kevin Conroy out there, but I wanted to take a look back at a particular one that has been coming up in the news outlets online more recently. In this interview, Kevin detailed some of the work that went into voicing the Arkham version of Batman and it was very interesting to me.
