The Fall of Iblis: Lessons on Humility and the Danger of Arrogance in Islam

In contrast to angels, who were made to worship Allah and follow His orders, jinns are spiritual beings with free will, which means they have the ability to choose between right and wrong. Iblis was formerly a pious and devoted jinn who spent ages worshiping Allah. He had a high rank, unwavering faith, and was widely regarded. Yet when he disobeyed Allah's order to prostrate himself before Prophet Adam, the first human, he met his demise and became a satan. His pride and haughtiness served as fuel for his disobedience, which resulted in his exile from Allah's presence. In this video, I've used blue fire to depict the Iblis because it's the hottest flame.

We learn the value of humility and submitting to Allah's will through the tale of Iblis. No matter how highly we consider ourselves, we must always keep in mind that Allah is the supreme authority and that, in the big scheme of things, we are only mere mortals. The only road to salvation is to be humble and obey Allah's commands, thus we should continually try to do so.

The tale also serves as a cautionary tale about the peril of falling prey to negative influences. The request made by Iblis to seduce and deceive people on Earth serves as a warning that there are wicked powers at work in the world that aim to divert us from the path of righteousness. It is up to us to be aware of these influences and maintain our commitment to the gospel.

The principle of free will is also emphasized in the Iblis narrative. Unlike angels, jinns are capable of making moral judgments. It is up to us to make good use of the gift of free will that has been given to us. No matter how challenging it can seem, we must always take the righteous route.

In conclusion, the tale of Iblis serves as a potent cautionary tale about the repercussions of haughtiness and disobedience to Allah. It teaches us the value of free will, the necessity of humility and submission to Allah's will, and the peril of being deceived by evil forces. Let's work to improve as Muslims by applying these principles to our daily lives. I appreciate your interest and hope to see you in the next video.
