Fire Emblem Engage - Hard Classic - Part 55: The Final Guardian (Chapter 25)

Two Fell Dragon Shards down, one more to go! Veyle senses the last one at Gradlon Temple, but tries to convince Alear to let her destroy the shard herself to spare her the pain of seeing who's guarding it, but as Alear is arguing against the idea and trying to understand what Veyle wants to protect her from, the shard's guardian reveals herself. It's Queen Lumera, who had been revived as a Corrupted by Sombron after fully regaining his power!

Every few turns Lumera will use the shard to send out a laser beam at a group of your units. Like the falling lava bombs in Chapter 23, all you can do is move them out of the purple areas the turn before it strikes.

I had previously bumped down the difficulty to Hard because I had hit a wall in Maddening mode, but even on Hard this battle was a struggle! Your units are split into two groups, and the place where the paths converge is guarded by a Corrupted Wyrm with a resurrection stone on each side. But that's not the hard part. The hard part comes when you get your units near said Wyrms. When you get close, enemy reinforcements will appear on each side behind your units' spawn points, one wave of 3 on each side every turn for 3 turns. Then, as you get close to the center, waves of 3 enemy units will appear in the center of the map every turn for a while as well as two enemy units each in the center left and center right will appear as well. That's 7 enemy units, 2 on the left, 2 on the right, and 3 in the center, spawning in every turn for what seems like an eternity! Despite what it may seem, these reinforcements are not infinite, but it was still a struggle to get through it all without losing any units! I cannot imagine doing this on Maddening! To make matters worse, when the reinforcements start pouring in, enemy thieves will move to the chests at the top of the map and swipe their contents, one of which has a legendary dagger, all while a massive wave of enemy reinforcements cover their escape!

Once you get past the reinforcements, the next wall of enemies shouldn't be too hard to deal with, but Queen Lumera herself is guarded by long-range Meteor Mages and Staff users, as well as two more Corrupted Wyrms each with a resurrection stone, so you may want to make some room around Lumera before you strike. Lumera herself has two resurrection stones and a sword that can strike two spaces away, but thankfully she doesn't have the insanely high Avoid stat that Past Alear had.

Killing Lumera will give you Alear's ultimate weapon, the Wille Glanz. If you're somehow able to intercept the Thieves through the massive wall of enemies and reinforcements, you can also get the legendary dagger Cinquedea from one of the chests.
