California faces a new storm as it recovers from recent atmospheric river

As an atmospheric river that led to widespread flooding flowed eastward, California continued to experience wet and miserable weather on Sunday. At the same time, a new storm threatened to bring another round of rain, snow, and gusty winds as early as Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the upcoming storm system could worsen the severe flooding that has already affected many areas of California in recent days.

This flooding caused evacuations and a levee failure on Saturday in farming communities located near the state’s central coast, the Associated Press reported.
