A steamer might void your warranty on your engineered wood

Yesterday I learned on my tile and grout cleaning job that if you use a steamer on your engineered wood that’s 180° plus you may void your warranty on that material? The client was pissed off, because wood cleaning company that was sent by the builder in her new home was using a steamer and paint thinner? WTF?
I believe avoided my warranty on my wood based on that information about 10 years ago ? How about you?
