Steroid abuse, or the non-medical use of anabolic steroids, can have a range of harmful and dangerous effects on the body. Anabolic steroids are synthetic versions of the hormone testosterone, which is responsible for building muscle and increasing strength. While they can be used medically to treat conditions such as delayed puberty, muscle wasting, and osteoporosis, their non-medical use is illegal and can have serious consequences.
