Pornography & Shame

Pornography is often called every man's battle. The lust of the flesh is preyed upon throughout culture and society. It's a struggle I once battled silently because of the shame associated with it. Shame is what the enemy uses to cause doubt and a decrease in faith, not just for lust of the flesh, but any sin.
The lies we use to justify it, and the lies the enemy uses to keep us enslaved to it are important to be aware of. While we can never minimize the soul destruction associated with it, we can't lose sight of the true battle it is to fight against.

The normalization and even romanticization of it have caused many men 9and women) to stumble in their faith. It's also a good parallel to the battle those in the LGBTQ community face. Not taking pride in sin, but submitting to Jesus Christ, is the only way to overcome and getting back in alignment with His perfect plan for our lives.

1 Corinthians 6:17-19
"But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a man can commit is outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own."

1 Timothy 4:2 (amplified)
"[misled] by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared as with a branding iron [leaving them incapable of ethical functioning."
