1-11-2023 just showing what I did to carry some tools with me at all times. I mentioned I never used then, I was wrong. When my rear brakes locked up I did open the "toolbox" to open the rear caliper to free the disc and limp home.

Keep in mind this is was intended to be only an air box and if over loaded with tools might cause it to break. I suggest minimal tools or reinforcing the box.

I had to clean the tools of rust and re-oil them with gear oil. I also treated the box itself with plastic conditioner, what i had was Aerospace 303 (not advertising for them, not paid by them nor am I endorsing them, just what i had). A 303 should never be used on polycarbonate plastics any transparent plastics used in directional indicators, instrument clusters or plastic headlight covers, it will cloud it up or put a haze on it, so be warned. I used to use furniture polish WITH NATURAL OIL, lemon or orange furniture polish just as long as it states has natural oils in it. That also works really good for plastics, leather and rubber parts. I let the treatment soak in over night into the plastic then made this video the next day.

Another reason I did this was I got tired of the air box and transition tube from the carburetor to the air box wouldn't let me remove the carburetor to either clean it or even change the jets out. Anyone who had to remove the air box knows what a pain in the behind it is to do so.

Disclaimer: I am not a certified motorcycle mechanic, this video is me showing what I did to keep my motorcycle on the road. I in no way saying this is the proper fix or the only fix. If in doubt please take your motorcycle to a certified motorcycle mechanic and or a proper motorcycle repair shop.
