Harry Murray developed the Strymph fly as a cross between a streamer and a nymph. A fly that can be fished either as a streamer or nymph when fishing for Smallmouth Bass. I first ran across the fly when I read his book on Fly Fishing for Smallmouth Bass ( https://amzn.to/3HumyUc ) years ago. Hands down, one of the best Smallmouth fly fishing books ever written. He has a number of great flies in the book that he created along with the Strymph. I have fished the Strymph both as a streamer (fishing it like a Woolly Bugger) and a nymph (under a strike indicator as well as behind big hopper patterns). It is a most effective fly for many warmwater species. -- Enjoy
