Wood Turning a Planter from a Giant Log: Beginner Woodturning Project

I wood turned this planter for my wife out of a huge section of a cut down tree near my house. I thought that woodturning a bowl from a big log would be daunting, but it actually wasn't too hard for a beginner like me.
There's still lots of wood left over for more bowls and goblets, but to be honest I didn't really like the color and smell(there were definitely some rotten bits) of this log, so it might sit in the corner of my shop waiting for a different woodworking project later on.
