Taking Turns Building the Nest 🌲 03/05/23 07:55

On a sunny morning, we find Angel's mate making a stick delivery to the nest. He seems to bring in the smaller pieces of pine for the nest bole, and Angel who arrives later tends to bring in the larger sticks used for the bumpers and to heighten the nest wall. This time Angel arrives for nestorations. Going through the nest, tweaking and knitting various places that need attending to. Her mate arrives back with a small piece of evergreen stick, but as the two are still on the nest, the cam stops working properly, skipping the timestamp to make them both disappear from the nest.

Angel's Story (from cam link above):
Angel is a very rare Leucistic Red-Tailed Hawk. 2 years ago, Angel & Mohawk (no longer around) raised 3 chicks and they fledged successfully. Last year Angel chose a new mate and he was still a subadult. Since the new male was not fully mature, they did not have eggs last year. This year he has fully matured and their bond seems strong. Will post a view soon about the history of Angel and how we came to put in this very unique and rare camera.
