Ellie Leaves Revealing Single Egg 🥚 03/05/23 02:11

It's time for Ellie to finally take her break. While she is gone, we get a great view of the egg and the brood feathers. The plucked feathers make an insulating lining for her nest bole. The brood patch also develops a supplemental set of vessels that bring hot blood close to the surface of the skin. All to keep her egg evenly warm. She's only gone 8 minutes when she appears on the upper branch. Walking very softly toward her egg. With a gentle roll of the egg and some wiggles, Ellie is back to incubating her egg.
Left at 02:11 and Returned at 02:19.
