Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 2: The Truth Is In The Flame (Temenos Chapter 1)

With our first of the 8 heroes in tow, let's travel to the city of Flameschurch and grab our next hero, the cleric Temenos! Temenos's path actions are Guide (during the day) which lets you bring an NPC with you around the map and even into battle, and Coerce (at night), which lets you fight NPCs to gain information from them (like Castti's Inquire or Osvald's Scrutinize but in battle form).

Like Throne, Temenos's story is darker than that of his Octopath 1 counterpart Ophilia. Temenos is an inquisitor, a hand-picked soldier for the Sacred Guard who serves Pontiff Jorg and protects him and his church from heretics and people who speak against the Sacred Flame.

In Chapter 1 of Temenos's story, Temenos is putting on a stage play of Aelfric the Flamebringer striking down the dark god Vide when the Pontiff walks in with an assignment to investigate a rise in heretic activity and to go to the cathedral later that night to report his findings. When he gets there, he finds the door locked. So after some interrogation he finds a secret passage inside. When he gets there he finds the Pontiff slain by an arcane beast. After striking down the beast he finds some clues to indicate that the Pontiff's death was not an accident. So now that he's free from his Inquisitor duties following the death of his boss he goes on a journey to investigate who orchestrated the killing.
