When we finally finish a song it might end up not feeling like it goes anywhere, or several of our songs and melodies might turn out sounding very similar to each other.

These challenges can be solved by being able to confidently compose unique, complimentary yet contrasting melodies over an existing chord progression on the guitar.

One easy and fun way to do this is to use the fretboard to find melodic territory that you haven’t explored yet while songwriting.

In every chord progression there are “built in melodies” just waiting to be discovered!

In this video I break down how to find them over chords you’re already playing.
