LESSON DESCRIPTION:
Today I'm starting a new free lesson series about improvising with chordal tones that I think you might like.
The best way to improvise confidently and creatively over any chord type is by knowing where the chordal tones are.
And I mean really knowing them so that at any moment we can choose to target or avoid the actual notes of the chord we're on.
No matter what we want to sound like stylistically we must see arpeggio guitar shapes and chordal tones on the fretboard with absolute clarity.
Sounds great right? But how do we get to that point?
We practice melodic arpeggio guitar shapes.
And we practice those arpeggio shapes with a series of specific steps and exercises to get us improvising with them right away.
That's what my new chordal tone mapping lesson series is all about.
In this series I'm teaching how to work on the arpeggio guitar shapes of the twelve chord types needed to improvise over any progression.
If soloing over chord changes is one of your goals then I'm confident that this series will help you.
This first lesson in the series is on the major triad.
Don't worry, we'll get to all those crazy chords later too, but sounding great on a major triad is an important first step :)
