I Found Gold At A Small Lake In Northern Lower Michigan

I was just practicing with my Garret gold panning set when I found gold at the lake at our cabin in Northern Lower Michigan.

I did not expect to find gold here because it is a quiet, peaceful lake. But, just a few inches below the surface, there is a rock layer. In that rock layer is fine flour gold.

I am finding at least one flake of gold per pan here in this little hole.

I figure that glaciers deposited the gold here long ago and, since the lake is quiet, not much action has occurred in the years to cause the gold and rocky layer to settle any lower than it is right now.
