The death toll from devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria surpasses seven thousand people, with many victims believed to still be trapped among the rubble of collapsed building. Russian emergency workers have been providing assistance in the search and rescue efforts. The OPCW has renewed accusations that the Syrian military has been using chemical weapons in the southern city of Douma. A Russian representative to the organization contested those findings, saying the new evidence was apparently allowed because it supports Western narratives, despite violating internal guidelines.
