Great Blue Heron at Last Season's Nest 🦩 02/05/23 15:27

While panning around the marsh area on Cam One, a Great Blue Heron is spotted at the nesting site from last season. Nesting season doesn't start until April for the Heron, but since they do not remain as a bonded pair for life, this could be a male scoping out the nest preparing to attract a mate. This is the second sighting of the Heron at the nest this year and they usually, but not always, use the same nest as prior seasons. When the Heron finally departs from the nest, we get to see those beautiful wings which have a 6'-7' wingspan.
