Pakistan launches women-only bus service
The first women-only bus service in Pakistan has launched in Karachi, in an effort to provide women with safe, harassment-free travel. One woman at the launch talked about the problems faced by women on public transport, explaining that girls were even avoiding leaving the house or going to work for fear of harassment.
Now, though, an initial eight pink buses will transport them around the city, with more in the pipeline, and a women-only pink cab service set to be launched in the future.
