Vinyl v/s CD

I was involved in HiFi for over a decade as a retailer and manufacturing consultant. I left the HiFi trade in 1992 to pursue other interests - becoming a Chef, a Fund Raiser for Prostate Cancer UK, a Hotelier, an Author and a becoming a Motorbiker. Believe it or not, I hadn’t listened to a vinyl record since leaving the HiFi business. My music medium was the iPod connected to a pair of Shure headphones. I knew that one day, I’d get back to it and that time has now come. I am having to start more or less at the budget end and today for the first time, I connected up a totally British system and played my first Album. At one time I had a collection of 3000 records. All sold and given away. The only one I managed to save from my hectic and erratic moves was ‘Cosmos Factory’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival (My favourite band). Well, here it is being played. Thank you to my mate Nigel who was its custodian and kept it save. Turntable: Rega P1 / Amp: Arcam Alpha 5 / Speakers: TDL. I’d almost forgotten how superior vinyl records are to CD. Well, in my view, it’s a fact. Go listen and make the comparison for yourself. Now it’s a matter of trolling the jumble sales and record shops to add to my meagre and pathetic collection. Can’t wait to listen to Kris Kristofferson on vinyl. It’s good to belong to the vinyl community again.
