Hook: Mustad 3399, #4-#14
Thread: Danville 6/0, Black & White
Tip: Danville Silver/Gold Mylar Tinsel, #14
Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippet
Tag: Floss, Blue
Hackle: Rooster Saddle, Red
Rib: Danville Silver/Gold Mylar Tinsel, #14
Body: Purple Wool or Dubbing
Throat: Schlappen, Blue
Wing: Brown Turkey and Gray Mallard Flank

The Major is a very busy and colorful wet fly. Another from Ray Bergman's Trout (page 437, plate #5). I chose to tie the Major because it has a number of materials and techniques that are not common in wet flies; at least most of the wet flies I have seen. All of the components and techniques are pointed out and discussed in the video. The most difficult is the Gray Mallard "covers" over the wing. All in all a fun fly to tie even if it was a bit more challenging. - Enjoy
