Shenanigans at The Capitol

Apparently here in Hawaii when public servants get called out for violating the law instead of upholding that law, they attempt to change it!
HB No. 132 is a bill that was introduced on January 19th that will eliminate the existing language of our statute which calls for audits. HRS§ 16-42 currently provides a safeguard to ensure that machine tabulation is accurately counting our votes. This section of the law is at risk of being stripped away from us through the introduction of this bill.
The Office of Elections has refused to acknowledge that HRS§ 16-42 requires that a random audit of ten percent of precincts be conducted to compare the votes cast on the paper ballot match the output of the electronic voting system.
Ralph Cushnie has entered a Petition For Redress of Grievances and we need your help to support it.

Please email Representative Scott Saiki to let him know that we do not agree with the attempt to change the language of our current law and that you support this petition. Please encourage others to do the same. repsaiki@capitol.hawaii.gov
