Historical Women Used "Dry Shampoo"?!

Boar bristle brushing, among other forms of historical hair care, is amazing for several reasons. The most overlooked of these reasons is that it is actually a form of dry-cleansing for the hair. It’s bristles delve right into the hair at the scalp, removing any buildup, as well as distributing your scalp’s natural oils all the way down your hair shaft.

This makes it a great method of stretching out the time between hair washes, especially if you are switching to a more natural and gentle method of cleansing such as clay washes.

For more on clay washes and the other natural, historical hair care practices I recommend, be sure to check out my three recent Youtube videos on hair care:

I am also currently working on a mini e-book that lays out the hair care routine in writing, with the reasons behind each practice, as well as handy written recipes. I haven’t yet decided if I will make this available for free or for a small fee, but either way it will be great, so stay tuned!
