Do you ever feel anxious? Nervous? Stressed?
Do you want to NOT feel this way??
Your BREATH can help with that!
*
Your breath bio-regulates your nervous system - meaning, it can make you feel calm, or super hyper/alert.
Slowing down the breath & keeping it in the diaphragm (versus breathing into the upper chest) activates the parasympathetic nervous system - meaning, it slows your heart rate and relaxes the body. This allows you to enter a state of relaxation, restoration, and repair.
This ☝🏼 is why there is savasana at the end of every yoga class 🤯🙏🏼
*
Sometimes I feel anxious & my mind is running a million miles a minute worrying about stupid stuff 🙄
So, a few relaxing yoga stretches & breathwork right before bed always seem to help me easily drift off into sleep 🧘🏼‍♀️
*
Here are 3 yoga poses you can do right before bed to help calm you down and prep you for sleep. Hold each pose for 5 deep, SLOW breaths.
*
Once you get into bed for your final savasana, focus on your breath to help calm down any remaining thoughts or stresses from the day.
5 count inhale in, 5 count exhale. Repeat until you drift off to sleep 😴
