This video gives a description of how to static time a small block Chevy, this is how to install the distributer in the engine and get the timing of the cam, and crankshaft aligned with the spark from the distributer prior to starting the engine. It starts out with some pictures and explanations of some of the various parts, such as the rotor and the distributer cap, it also shows which plug wire connection on the distributer cap is #1 cylinder, and you will need some of this information to complete the task. Then there is some video of the actual distributor installation. This information is pertinent for all small block Chevy engines, 283, 305, 307, 327, 350, 400, and all other small blocks Chevy's made by combining their parts. Below are the addresses my YouTube channel which I no longer have access to, my Instagram page, HRI Services welding Facebook page, and the Classic Chevy Parts page.
