It is important to work on plyometric exercises as it helps improving higher jumping, leg strength when striking the ball it is just so important when playing football. Speed is just so important as well as you want to make sure you get a quick start in the sprint as football is mostly short sprints whether that is closing the opposition down or taking someone on 1vs1.
