Oak Hill Church of Christ 5-1-22 Message: "Wilderness Survival"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister delivers a message on the developing character of the Christian who seeks God in times of trouble and uncertainty.

If you did an internet search for "wilderness survival" you would probably find lists and suggestions for the best water filters, the best backpacks, the best boots, foods, and portable stoves. When we think about survival, we think about our physical bodies and see it as a function of just how much suffering we need to endure relative to our modern lifestyle.

God sees things a little differently. God isn't afraid to admit that life is full of suffering and that the struggle for survival is the rule rather than the exception.

God also sees that what man truly needs to survive is not the physical body, but the spirit. God nourishes and refreshes the spirit of those who come to Him acknowledging that the battle for survival in the spiritual sense is one that rages on despite self-driving cars and air conditioning.

If you are experiencing a spiritual wilderness, no MREs or water bags will keep you going, and no prepping plan on Earth will make you ready. Instead, turn to God and search the Bible for the plan you're looking for. Discover God's capacity for spiritual satisfaction and comfort in times of difficulty and seek His refreshment.
