A pattern change appears probable in the Great Lakes Region as we head into the second half of January. Long-range models are in agreement of a series of low pressure systems moving into the Great Lakes Region, bringing potential for multiple forms of precipitation. Placement of low pressure systems is key to determining snowfall potential, but these lows foreshadow a polar surge of cooler temperatures for the first week of February.
