22LHDVD12-7 - Deborah Vails - Get Rid of Bitterness

In Heb 12:14&15 she takes us all the way from peace, to holiness, to the root of bitterness and ends with defilement. Once the root of bitterness has been planted and begins to grow it will spread rapidly - like an invasive plant. Get to the root of whatever you're struggling with to forgive or to get over the hurt. Allow the Lord to do a little surgery on you and get those toxins out so you can begin to heal. Perhaps it means getting to the altar and “praying through”. One event that can lead to a root of bitterness is betrayal. She teaches how Jesus, our pattern, handled Judas, the deepest betrayal of all. Eph 4:32 emphasizes the critical need to forgive. When you truly forgive you will let go. We must love, but we must forgive. Freedom lies in the power of forgiveness.
