Today my much-loved Australian shepherd Bo had to be put down at ten years of age. This is the fourth time in my life that one of my dogs has died. It never gets easier, but you find different ways to cope with it. One way, for me anyhow, is to go to the familiar and comforting stories of Gary Paulsen, and the many dogs he had over the years.
