DC’s Fresh Start 5K race takes place on New Year’s Day

Hundreds flocked to Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC to take part in the ninth annual Fresh Start 5k race, organized and hosted by Mayor Muriel Elizabeth Bowser. Some participants could be seen with babies in strollers, while others brought their dogs. The event was held virtually for the past two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.
