Cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev, Anna Kikina and Dmitri Petelin have been giving their temporary home a makeover, and now the Russian segment of the International Space Station could rival the merriest New Year’s party.

Although hanging up baubles and bunting in zero gravity is bound to present its own set of challenges, the cosmonauts are determined to uphold this festive tradition. ‘Just like at home, we have a tradition here of putting up a Christmas tree and decorating the interior of the station for the New Year,’ said Prokopyev.
