Why is the Department of Commerce Asking for Sales Records from Holster Companies?

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses a recent article in ammonland.com, which explained that many American holster manufacturers had received requests from the Department of Commerce asking for "commodity flow surveys" related to the products they sold. The concern of many of these manufacturers is the unique nature of what is being asked of them. Considering this Administration's stance on the Second Amendment and how the ATF has acted since this Administration took over, it is not hard to imagine a far more nefarious purpose to the collection of this data.
