Last night at Publix in Deltona, a customer passed a note to an employee demanding cash while indicating he had a gun. He left without getting any money, but he was already on video. So was his vehicle. A License Plate Reader in the DeLand area later caught the suspect's tag, and deputies converged on the area.
After fleeing a traffic stop and hitting stop sticks several times, 58-year-old Steven N. Williams (DOB 8/29/1964) was taken into custody at 2100 E. New York Ave., DeLand, on charges of robbery, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, and several counts of violation of probation.
