Hook: Mustad 3399, #4-#14
Thread: Danville 6/0, Black
Tail: Goose Shoulder, red
Underbody: Wool Yarn, Brown (not part of original recipe)
Body: Peacock Herl
Hackle: Hen Neck, Black
Wing: Goose Quill, Red

The Grackle is another wet fly from Ray Bergman's book Trout. I chose to do a video on tying the Grackle because of the peacock herl body and wanting to demonstrate another way to work with peacock herl to produce a full and durable body. The video is a little bit longer than my usual tying video as I as I show in detail how to make a dubbing loop, secure the peacock herl in the loop and make a dubbing brush out of the peacock herl. If you are new to dubbing loops or if you are having a some trouble working with peacock herl in dubbing loops then this video is worth the time to watch. - Enjoy
