The entire Interstellar Vehicle (ISV) line - of which the Venture Star is just one of twelve - is one of the very few attempts at making a near-future "realistic" space ship in your current entertainment system. That said, it still has some problems, and most of the interesting parts were omitted from the movie entirely, probably because of time or cost or whatever.
