On the afternoon tour, we find a female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in the Oak tree. Like other Woodpeckers, they do eat insects but prefer to drill into Fruit, Birch, or Maple trees to suck the sap flowing from the tree. The holes they drill are ring-like rows called Sap Wells.
