Balcones Escarpment
Edwards Limestone
Edwards Aquifer
Hill Country
Government Canyon State Natural Area
San Antonio
Bexar County
Ashe Juniper
In this final video from my hike, I leave my lunch stop overlooking the west end of San Antonio, and continue on the Black Hill Loop. I reach the highest point on the trail at 1500ft and then to descend following "La Subida" trail. The heat began to get to me so I took some breaks to cool off, but the temperature became pleasant again when descending the escarpment facing southeasterly breeze.
There is a trail in the park I would like to hike next time called "Cave Creek Trail" where there is an endangered spider lives called the Government Canyon Bat Cave Spider.
